Sister Associations

Below you can find an overview of all our sister associations.

KNCV - Royal Netherlands Chemical Society

The KNCV is a professional association with over 8,500 members in chemistry, life sciences, and process technology. The KNCV represents chemistry, life sciences, and process technology in the Netherlands, supporting social welfare and promoting an accurate image of chemistry. The molecular sector plays a key economic role, accounting for a quarter of Dutch R&D expenses. KNCV is also active internationally through EuCheMS and IUPAC, strengthening its presence in the global scientific community.

Membership comes with significant discounts on event fees, sometimes even granting free entry. Additionally, you will also receive the C2W magazine. The C2W is published 11 times a year, focusing on recent developments in chemistry and related fields. It covers academic and commercial advancements in the Netherlands and Flanders, curated by a professional editorial team with expertise in chemistry.

You can become a free member at the KNCV for 3 years as a bachelor student if you register through CODON!

Jong-KNCV

Jong-KNCV is the youth branch of the Royal Netherlands Chemical Society (KNCV), designed for students and young professionals in chemistry, life sciences, and process technology. It offers a vibrant community where young scientists can explore career opportunities, connect with peers, and engage with industry and academia through events such as company visits, lectures, and networking activities. Jong-KNCV plays a key role in bridging the gap between education and the professional world, supporting the development of the next generation of scientists.

Membership comes with great benefits, including free or discounted access to events and a subscription to C2W International, a magazine that highlights the latest developments in chemistry and related fields in the Netherlands and beyond. Bachelor students can join KNCV, including Jong-KNCV, for free for three years by registering through CODON, making it an excellent starting point for building a strong professional foundation.

ONCS

The Open Nederlandse Chemie Sportdagen (ONCS) is an annual sports tournament that brings together (bio)chemistry students from across the Netherlands for a weekend of friendly competition and social connection. Thanks to our affiliation with the KNCV, we are able to participate in this unique event, which combines athletic activities with the spirit of collaboration within the Dutch (bio)chemistry community.

Participating in the ONCS is a great way to meet fellow students from sister associations across the country, strengthen bonds beyond academic settings, and enjoy a fun, active break from studying. It’s an example of how the KNCV helps foster not just professional development, but also a strong and supportive network of young (bio)chemists.
