Beste oud-leden,

In november 2024 is de 20ste almanak uitgekomen. Deze keer met als thema: “Dwars door rood!”. Wilt u als oud-CODON lid toch nog een beetje op de hoogte blijven van wat er binnen de vereniging gebeurt? Dan is het nu mogelijk om een almanak te bestellen voor maar €10 excl. verzendkosten!

Naast almanak XX zijn er ook nog een paar exemplaren van XIX en XVIII beschikbaar.

De almanakken zijn te koop door een mail te sturen naar secretaris@codon.nl met uw naam, verzendadres, almanakversie en aantal.

The Academic Year Has Begun! 📚

Excitement is in the air as we kick off another incredible academic year at Codon! These past weeks have been nothing short of fantastic, with a whirlwind of activities and warm welcomes to our new bachelor and master students during the AID.

🎉 AID Study Day: We set the tone with a day brimming with engaging activities, laughter, and memorable conversations. It was the perfect opportunity to forge new connections. As the day drew to a close, we savored a delightful barbecue followed by an unforgettable evening of fun at the Bunker.

🎈 Loads of Activities: At Codon, we never rest! We’ve already enjoyed a series of thrilling events, including Axie’s exciting kick-off, an adrenaline-pumping lacrosse workshop by the Sportcie, and a festive Dies week that marked Codon’s 32 years of excellence. Hip hip hooray!

🥳 AUG Start Party: Brace yourselves because next week, we’re unleashing the infamous AUG Start Party! It’s going to be epic, and we can’t wait to see you there. Get ready for a night that promises unforgettable memories.

From 3 till 10 November, CODON celebrates its fifth lustrum. Several activities are planned to celebrate our lustrum.

If you want to join an event, you can register for it on the event-page (to go to the event page, please click the title of the event below). Under the picture, a menu bar is shown which includes a registration link. You can also first sign in to MyDNA with your account, and the form will be filled out automatically for you.

Dear members,

On Thursday the 25th of September, it is time for the next General Members Meeting, which will take place in the Woeste Hoeve (Flatpub of Hoevestein). You are welcome at 19:00 for a cup of tea or coffee and the meeting will start at 19:30. In this GMM, the CODON year financial report, the year financial reports of the activity committee (Axie) and the study committee (StudCie) will be presented, as well as the CODON budget for the coming year.
You have received an e-mail in which the financial reports and the old minutes can be found in the attachments. There will be printed copies during the meeting. Please send all non-content related errors via e-mail to the board, these will not be discussed during the GMM. The WVTTK’s (Wat Verder Ter Tafel Komt) should be applied beforehand to bestuur.codon@wur.nl.

Board Barbeque

Dear members,

At the 18th of September, the board will organize a big BBQ for all members of CODON, especially for our new first-year-students! Each year, the committees of CODON will present themselves on this event and show the newcomers what their committee is all about and what it will mean for them. Ofcourse, you will get the chance to sign up for one or two committees to join them in their activities throughout the year!
The BBQ will take place at the Woeste Hoeve at 18:30. The entree fee is 5 euros after you have signed up! Please be there and enjoy a nice evening with your fellow biotechnology students! To sign up, please send us an e-mail to bestuur.codon@wur.nl.
