Hans Langeveld joined us on the 24th of January to discuss the Federation Bioeconomy Netherlands in the lunchbreak in C103. This union consists of companies, NGOs, scientists and already existing innovation clusters. The goal of the FBN is to accelerate the transition to a more sustainable country, through more effective usage of green resources. Besides this, Hans Langeveld is here to discuss how students would like to become a part of the FBN.
After two years, PRCie decided to launch a new website. This decision has been made, since the previous one didn’t meet the WebCSSi’s high requirements.
This new website is also a step to a better functioning MyDNA. We will keep you informed.
It was quite the night last Tuesday. People all over the city centre were witness to our quest; the search for liquid gold!
We came together with over a 180 people from nine different study associations in order to reunite all parts of the fortune of Baron Juste de Thierry. Plans had been made and after a collective start everyone split up in groups to find the wandering ghosts of the siblings Thierry, that had each stolen a part of their fathers’ fortune. That proved to be a challenge, since they were being kept apart by hunters who went after everyone out to lessen the siblings’ misery. New speed records were set and the screams of those caught could be heard everywhere, but with true CODON courage people managed to reach them anyway and faced the challenges lain before them. Except for those that practiced the art of CODON comfort 🙂 And so, after a night of sneaking, running and furiously thinking (for most), one of the groups managed to get the coins from all the brothers together and claimed the liquid gold!
Tales of this night will be told long after we’ve graduated. Now the siblings will finally rest in peace.

Voor deelname aan de ONCS zal een bijdrage gevraagd wordt van 27,50 voor 2 dagen en 35 euro voor 3 dagen. Tijdens de ONCS zullen alle deelnemers traditiegetrouw in het sportcentrum overnachten (de twee grote sportzalen worden slaapzalen). Op en neer reizen is dus niet nodig! Overnachtingen zitten bij de prijs in, evenals ontbijt (2x), lunch (2x) en diner (op donderdagavond). Globaal gezien bestaat het programma uit:

Inschrijven voor een sport kan door op deze mail te reageren of een mail te sturen naar Sportcie@www.codon.nl. Inschrijven kan ook in teams, kijk in de bijlage voor een overzicht van de sporten en hoeveel deelnemers mee kunnen doen per sport. Op 24 januari komt Jan Schouten, expert op het gebied van moleculaire biologie, een presentatie geven over Synthon, en zijn rol binnen dit bedrijf. De BusinessTalk zal plaatsvinden tijdens de lunch en er is wederom gezorgd voor wat te eten en te drinken! Ben je benieuwd wat Synthon voor een bedrijf is of wat een werknemer bij Synthon zoal doet? Kom dan vooral langs!

On Thursday the 17th of November the next General Members Meeting (GMM) is planned. From 19.00 on you are welcome in the Woeste Hoeve to have some free drinks and snacks. We will start this official meeting at 19.30 sharp, so please be on time!
During this meeting, Piotr van Rijssel and Tessy Hick will leave the board. Furthermore, Linda van Oosten will resign as secretary in the hope that she will become the new president of CODON. Jimmy Wieten and Suzanne Ruijten are the new board candidates for the function of secretary and treasurer respectively. As a member you have the rights to vote for the new candidates during the meeting!
We are planning to finish the GMM around 22.00 after which we dress up the new board members and have some drinks together to congratulate them.

CODON, de studievereniging der biotechnologen, viert dit jaar haar 5de lustrum. Aangezien u als oud biotechnologie student een bijdrage heeft geleverd aan een gedeelte van deze mooie jaren, nodigen we u graag uit voor de reünisten dag die tijdens de lustrumweek zal plaatsvinden. Deze dag zal u de gelegenheid geven om bij te praten met oude studiegenoten, de nieuwe campus te bewonderen en terug te blikken op uw studententijd in Wageningen.
De reünisten dag vindt plaats op 5 november 2016. Het programma zal starten om 11.00 uur en eindigen rond 16.00 uur waarna nog tijd zal zijn voor een borrel. Wilt u graag aanwezig zijn tijdens deze dag meldt u dan aan via deze link. CODON, study association of biotechnology, will celebrate her 5th lustrum. As an old biotechnology student you contributed to a part of these wonderful years. Therefore we would like to invite you for the reunion day which will take place during the lustrum week. This day will give you the opportunity to meet old fellow students, see the new campus and look back on your student time in Wageningen.
The reunion day will take place on the 5th of November 2016. The program will start at 11.00 am and end at 16.00 pm after which there is time for some drinks.
